about

'Some Must Watch While Some Must Sleep' is the new collection of recordings by Christopher Andreas’ asylumpeace project. The title of the collection and of the 17-minute track that concludes it comes from
a book by the renowned sleep researcher William C Dement - a decades-old study on the nature of sleep and dreaming and referred to by Anthony Storr in his book 'Solitude' in connection with an exploration of schizophrenia - that in turn is drawn from a statement
by Shakespeare's character Hamlet.

Christopher's hope is that a unifying and individual aesthetic will be felt by the listener to run through the pieces, with a general theme sensed of the universal striving to find a measure of peace, even complete serenity, in the midst of chaos and conflict both internal and external.

This may be heard especially in the pieces 'Supplication of Silence', 'On Waking', and 'Some Must Watch...'

A follow-up collection, entitled 'All The Ends of All The Roads', is about to be released.

“Sincere thanks for visiting and listening”. Christopher Andreas

about

asylumpeace Edinburgh, UK

...My search to produce sounds that are part of my personal emotional loop, and the hope that they may touch or tap into that of a listener, has led me to piece together these modest, essentially lo-fi recordings. I lay them before anyone who is so very kind-enough to listen as my rendition of landscape, environment and relationships.

With grateful thanks, Christopher Andreas
